SUMMARY

 

Frontier Cooperative d/b/a Frontier Co-Op is seeking a qualified individual for its Head of Supply Integrity position, based out of our Norway, IA office. Located in the Global Sourcing division of the Company, position is required to manage vendors that supply to Frontier Natural Cooperative, ensuring that they meet FSVP requirements, strict facility and product quality guidelines as well as the required specifications and requirements of the business to ensure a safe, wholesome product. Position will be heavily involved in origin products, including vendor and development assessment, will be viewed as the subject matter expert for vendor and origin management. Responsible for building a strategy for ongoing monitoring and assessment of suppliers through cost effective model. Will work within various trade committees, active in ASTA and GFSI associations. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Define, design, build, implement and manage a strategy ensuring that all vendors meet FSVP and regulatory requirements - 25% of the time. 
  • Define vendor quality, food safety and regulatory expectations for vendors of new and existing products. Responsible for global Quality Supplier Audits (either vendor site audits or review site audits based aganist annual plan). Review organization, facilities and quality issues and provide guidance and verify corrective actions to ensure compliance to requirement. Develop new vendors to meet required standard as per business requirement - 15%
  • Management of projects that support the comprehensive continuous improvement goals of Global Sourcing - 15%
  • Maintain approved vendor list for all vendors and ensure all vendor documentation for certification compliance is up-to-date and available - 10%
  • Provide leadership, guidance and consultation on vendor quality matters in support of the business objectives, assisting in development of vendor material monitoring programs - 10%
  • Establish appropiate metrics to measure ongoing risks by vendor, origin and product - 10%
  • Work within various trade groups such as ASTA, GFSI, OTA in order to ensure that the company is up-to-date on regulatory requirements pertaining to the Food Safety Modernization Act and the Foreign Supplier Verification Program and in order to locate new suppliers. - 10%
  • Support raw material technical requirements that include required documentation for produt and site approvals such as RFI and specification approvals - 5%

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Bachelor's degree in Management, Quality or Procurement, required as is a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in quality including operational auditing in food manufacturing. Demonstrated understanding of commodity markets, source origin challenges and process control and quality assurance as demonstrated b 5 years of experience in quality, including operational auditing in food manufacturing required. Experience with, and in-depth understanding of, the Global Food Safety Initiative, food safety (including but not limited to HACCP, pest control, process minimum standards) and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), as demonstrated by certifications in GFSI, HACCP, FSPCA. Previous experience in managing, leading, and developing dynamic work teams, as demonstrated by cerification in Project Management. 

 

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 

Must be certified in GFSI, HACCP, FSPCA, Project Management. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

 

Must be willing to travel 40% of the time to company's suppliers (both national and international travel required).
