SUMMARY

 

Responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. This position also performs a variety of administrative tasks for the Plant Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop overall project timelines and key milestones; ensure teams complete projects successfully, on time, and within budget.
  • Identify and execute improvements in the accuracy and speed of projects.
  • Constantly monitor progress on projects and provide regular updates to the Plant Manager.
  • Performs all administrative tasks for the Plant Manager.
  • Trains and supports other managers in project management
  • Handles confidential and non-routine information in highly professional matter.
  • Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc. with a high degree of accuracy and written expertise.
  • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
  • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college Business or Project Management or a related field; or 6 months to 1 year of experience in Project Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with cross-functional teams preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence; writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

Experience with MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Web, and other business software required.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, analytical, and creative skills.
  • Detail and results oriented.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
