    SUMMARY

     

    Manages the brand from a business and marketing perspective to achieve short term and long-term category contribution, market share and sales growth in designated markets.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participates in development of strategic direction and annual strategic plans for category. Prepares band marketing plan and ensures sales, gross margin, and contribution targets are achieved.
    • Understands the consumer, customer, and competitve environment and utilizes that insight to initiate recommendations in marketing mix (product, price, place, and promotion) and new business/new products.
    • Lead projects comprised of cross-functional teams to achieve key initiative deliverables.
    • Works directly with digital, content, creative departments and agency to develop branding and advertising strategies.
    • Performs qualitative and quantitative market research on packaging, concepts, products, positioning, pricing and promotion.
    • Analyzes sales and profitability by product, region, and customer. Provides sales forecasts and works closely with sales departments and distribution channels to ensure growing sales and market share.
    • Managers trade and consumer advertising activities.
    • Operates sustainably and strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-uses resources when practical.
    • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
    • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Takes responsibility for safety within department and actively assesses hazards in their department and finds solutions to those hazards.

     

    Reinforces a safety culture: leads by example, reminds employees to work safely, praises good behavior and safe practices, encourages suggestions, communicates consequences for unsafe acts, holds employees accountable, disciplines employees when warranted.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     

    Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in marketing, communications, sales, advertising, business administration, or related field; and 4 to 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

     

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret such items as highly detailed professional, scientific, and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from both inside and outside the company. Ability to write speeches, articles, or memo using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to such groups as top management, boards of directors, or the general public.

     

    QUANTITATIVE SKILLS

     

    Ability to comprehend the most complex financial principles. Ability to use a computer to create highly customized spreadsheets, charts and reports, presentations, and interpret data. Ability to analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and the most detailed types of financial documents, and apply information to make long-term, strategic decisions.
