    SUMMARY

    Responsible for ordering supplies, planning menus, and preparing childcare meals and snacks within budgetary guidelines.  

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Provides menu items to all age groups within the childcare department according to DHS guidelines.
    • Orders, prepares, and serves meals and snacks that are nutritious and are organic or natural whenever possible.
    • Rotates and manages inventory to ensure fresh products and minimal storage.
    • Balances childcare food income with expenses and regularly reviews budget status with Childcare Director.
    • Reviews invoices for accuracy and approves invoices for payment.
    • May perform childcare worker duties as needed.
    • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
    • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
    • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    6+ months experience with children

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple notices and instructions
