    SUMMARY

     

    Position exists to provide additional leadership and support to the manager assigned to the area and temporarily covers for that manager in his/her absence. Position also provides an opportunity to identify and develop employees for positions of advancement.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serves the sanitation team by providing positive leadership, direction and guidance to on-site team members across all shifts
    • Assists manager with site specific duty scheduling and the management of the Master Sanitation Schedule
    • Assists manager in resolving day-to-day issues and remains flexible
    • Assists in the creation and updates of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
    • Desires and demonstrates capability for increasing role of supervisory responsibility within the company
    • Works cooperatively and efficiently with other departments to meet the overall objectives of the company
    • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources in an effective fashion
    • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training
    • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action
    • Has a critical role in assuring food safety, quality and continuous improvement
    • All other expectations of a Sanitation Team member
    • Other duties may be assigned

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides functional supervision by directing the work activity of other employees, but is not responsible for hiring, termination, evaluation, pay decisions, or corrective action.
    • Responsible for safety within the department. Actively assesses hazards in the department and works cross functionally to resolve.
    • Facilitates interdepartmental training for on-site sanitation team members.
    • Reinforces a safety culture: leads by example, reminds employees to work safely, praises good behavior and safe practices, encourages suggestions, provides feedback and recommendation to manager regarding potential discipline.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 – 12 months of related experience. Post high school education preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

     

    Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, or memos; including operating procedures or safety rules. Ability to effectively and accurately write correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations with a limited group of people.

     

    QUANTITATIVE SKILLS

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.

     

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
