SUMMARY

 

Ensures complete and accurately placed finished goods inventories by slotting items, performing physical inventory counts, and entering and monitoring system data.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors and resolves inventory issues throughout warehouses by generating and reviewing reports from computer system, making or arranging for inventory adjustments, and updating information.
  • Performs monthly physical inventory counts to review accuracy of pulling shelves.
  • Places new items onto pulling shelves and enters data into system regarding locations, reorder points, and shelf tags.
  • Enters distributor order information into system, prints and organizes pullsheets, and notifies production of manufacturing needs.
  • Assists distribution, invoicing, and inventory data into system. 
  • Responds to special project needs by adding or removing pulling shelves for slotting purposes and physically relocating inventory to resolve space issues.
  • Works with financial department to make end-of-month and end-of-year inventory adjustments to system.
  • Works with Receiving and Warehousing Staff, Purchasing, and/or Production departments to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
  • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read and comprehend moderately detailed instructions, short correspondence, or memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations with a limited group of people.

 

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) a manual pallet jack.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work within a team concept.
