- Responsible for specifying, justifying, processing and installation of equipment and major facility expansions for all divisions.
- Assists in troubleshooting processing, packaging, distribution, and warehousing equipment problems and in the formulation of solutions.
- Serves as project lead for major equipment or facility changes.
- Selection, scheduling, and management of sub-contractors.
- Continual improvement focus on process waste-reduction, cost reduction and process constraint indentification and reduction.

SUMMARY
This position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, directs and coordinates all accounting operational functions; including the oversight of payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, membership and general accounting and cost accounting.
- Assesses accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
- Establishes, monitors and enforces of accounting policies and procedures.
- Establishes, monitors and enforces internal controls which provides for the safe-guarding of the Company’s assets and assures the accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financial results and position.
- Ensures the successful completion of the company’s regulatory filings, including tax planning and compliance.
- Manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates the year-end close process with external auditors, including financial and benefit plan audits.
- Prepares financial statements, including balance sheet and cash flow statements; develops and monitors business performance metrics.
- Planning, budgeting and authorizing expenditures.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
- Hires, trains and retains competent accounting staff; and designs an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
- Manages external relationships with banks, lessors, insurance, benefit administrators facilitating effective and efficient ‘back-office’ support of day-to-day transactions.
- Provides management with information vital to the decision-making process.
- Assists with establishing and implementing short and long range departmental goals, objectives, and development plans for the finance team.

Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with Tier 2 or higher ERP software and strong knowledge of data management. Familiarity of database software, and other business software such as Enterprise Content Management and HR/payroll systems.
